Oslo on ice.
Hi, it’s Len again.
Well last night was a late one due to the clocks going forward one hour because we ventured into international waters, docked in Oslo this morning so we had to get up early (which we weren't) so had a hell of a rush to breakfast.
(Editor:We sat on the balcony and enjoyed the view and watched in amazement as the captain manoeuvred the ship into an exact parking spot at the dock. He backed it in, something Len has trouble doing!)
We walked into Oslo and took the time out to meet and greet one tired young lady who caught my eye for some reason or other, said a brief hello to her and then we took the ferry to some foreign island to visit the viking ship museum, very crowded and a bit disappointing as it was only old ships on view, they all looked like they had seen better days.
(Editor: The art in the city was quite intriguing.)
Carolyn in her capacity of chief photographer took some rather nifty snaps of our venture ashore ignoring my warnings that it was only a twenty four snap film in the camera and as is usual some of them came out a little blurred, she is so quick at developing the photos I'm always amazed.
(Editor:We were underwhelmed by the Museum. But for those who are coming on a Baltic cruise here is the scoop. You walk toward the red brick city hall and turn right to bring you to where the ferries are. Take the public river bus at pier F. A return costs 69K but we got it for half price due to being of advanced age! That’s about £7 which is good value in my view. The museum cost 100 Krone so about £10 but again we got a discount. We got a lovely view of the ship from the ferry. And could even see our cabin thanks to our neighbours who have hung out some bunting.
A final word from Len: It’s been a few good hours in Oslo. I got frisked coming back on board. I must look dodgy!
What is the problem I have backing it in?
