Tales from Tallinn
There is good reason why Tallinn is called the Jewel in the Baltic Crown. The Old Town is a delight around every corner. We had a good day to explore as the sun was shining and it was warm. We were told the town centre was 10 to 15 minutes drive from the dock and they recommended taking the shuttle at a cost of course. In actual fact it was an easy 20 minutes walk even for us oldies! We did notice the shuttle buses queuing at the roundabout for about 10 minutes so that could explain it!
I loved the architecture and took dozens of photos.

There were loads of pubs and eateries, including the obligatory Irish pub!
In the doorways we noticed cloth ladies inviting us in.
Len even found of his own!
I tend to look for interesting sculptures or ornamental art work and this town had so much to choose from.

The other thing that was noticeable were the flowers. Everywhere they had the most beautiful petunias and other colourful pots and troughs.

But the piece de resistance for me was Alexander Nevsky Cathedral at the top of Toompea Hill. It was awesome in the sunshine.

After getting our fill of the Cathedral we looked for directions to find our way out of the Old Town and ended up taking a Kiek in de Kok! Ouch!
When we got back to the dock the tugs were there getting ready to help a ship vacate it’s berth.
