Detour to Vienna

We are about to set off for our long anticipated trip down under but before we jet off let me tell you about a small diversion we had in December. We were fortunate enough to be invited to join our son, daughter in law and grandson on a short trip to Vienna to enjoy the Christmas markets. We stayed in Le Meridien in the city centre. What an amazing city it is. So accessible on foot and it looked magical at night. We enjoyed a food tour on our first night there and learnt a lot about both the culture and the cuisine. We walked a thousand miles at least and saw some awesome buildings. A highlight was the marionette show at one of the palaces. It was cold, very cold! But we managed to stay warm with mulled wine and other spirits! Here are some pictures of our trip.
